Comments | On 19/20 October, 15 club members attended the surf competition at Loch Sport, despite the challenging conditions. Winds were 25 knots with a strong side drift and seaweed. Some anglers returned home early, while others enjoyed the fun at Seacombe, where they caught bream and battled eels tangled in branches. Even the seal had enough and was sunbathing on the sand. Other anglers watched the Everest and Caulfield Cups, while on Saturday night we enjoyed a BBQ and chatted around the fire pit. Two anglers unsuccessfully attempted fishing on Sunday, returning empty-handed after an hour. By 9:30 am, we had packed our bags and were ready to leave. Even though we didn’t catch a fish, the weekend was enjoyable. |

Across the group, 32 fish were caught, comprising a mixed bag of 3 salmons, 11 breams, 13 mullets, 2 tailors and 3 trevallies. The standout catch was a 1.15 kg bream, impressively landed by John Bertuna. Noah Bramble was so happy to catch two breams, and he won the junior category.
