Freshwater competition_Lake Eildon-14-15th September 2024
The Eildon freshwater competition was successful, with twelve adults, two Juniors, and one visitor catching 7 Rainbow trouts, totalling 22.9 kg.
The weather was challenging, with cold mornings, cloudy skies, light rain, and strong wind. There was a brief period of blue skies, then wind and light rain again. Sunday morning was cold but without rain.
Bow, Neil Kolbe’s wife, caught a 6 kg Rainbow Trout at Pondage, breaking the Club record of 4.6 kg set by Tristan Billing. Members gathered for weigh-ins on Saturday and Sunday, enjoying a BBQ and all had a great time.
The Eildon competition was held in memory of Darryl Freeman, and John Bertuna scattered his ashes in the Lake.
Loch Sport Competition Saturday 24th, Sunday 25th August
The surf competition started on a sunny, 25 degrees, Saturday 24th August . Unfortunately, there was no surf and the salmon was not present. Twelve adult members fished on that day, catching 14 fish (4 Salmons, 2 Trevallies and 8 Mullets).
Sunday was a cooler day, however there was still no surf. Six adult members caught one mullet and one salmon. Nevertheless, we all had a good time for the weekend.
Results will be announced at the next Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 3rd September. We hope to see everyone there.
